The Light Within

I think we can all agree that lighting can have an effect on our emotions. From the dimly lit passages of the haunted house to the soft and subtle glow that surrounds the newly wed couple on our television screens we are made to feel a certain way. Then how come so often we neglect the effect that the lighting in our own homes and offices can have on our emotions? We work in the dark because we are too busy to turn on the lights and then we wonder why we go away feeling tired and depressed. Yet on a nice sunny day we open the curtains and immediately feel awake and ready to tackle a challenge but we hardly ever take notice of how we would feel if we left those curtains closed.

We change lighting to put us in a certain mood, with strobe lights and disco balls we are ready to party the night away but put those away and light a few candles and we want to cuddle up with a loved one.
